Google Latitude – tracking where your friends is from Google Maps.

Google announced a new location tracking feature of Google Maps that will allow you to share your current location with your friends and family. It’s called Latitude

Latitude is a new feature of Google Maps for mobile, as well as an iGoogle gadget, that allows you to share your location with your friends and to see their actual locations, if they choose to allow to share their location with you. You can use your Google account to sign in and easily invite friends to Latitude from your existing list of contacts or by entering their email addresses. Google Talk is integrated with Latitude, so you and your friends can update your status messages and profile photos on the go and see what everyone is up to. You can also call, SMS, IM, or email each other within the app.

At the moment it is only available for BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Android and Symbian S60 phone, Google hopes to release an iPhone version soon, iPhone user, soon we will see it.

Latitude不单是Google Maps的新功能，也是iGoogle的新工具，容许你同时与对方聊天的当儿，查看对方在什么位置（如果对方允许）。你也可以使用你的Google帐号登入并且直接在手机上邀请你通讯录的朋友加入，当然对方要有Google帐号。在使用Google Talk聊天的当儿，你与你的朋友可以直接看到对方更新的status（如facebook）、照片、或发送简讯、电邮等。

暂时Google Maps Latitude只提供给黑莓机、Window Mobile、Android与S60(Nokia)手机，Google 希望迟点会发布iPhone版本，iPhone用户们，拭目以待！
