Dont be a copy cat – it is not creative at all! 不要一味的抄袭，一点都不创意！

I knew there are many designers/bloggers are using existing free website template for their own website or blog, there is nothing wrong to use free template, but when you using it, can you don’t simply remove the original author credit link without a permission?

And if it is not free template, can you don’t simply copy without a permission? Recently i suspect there is a new local web design freelancer/company are trying to copy my own theme design, and not even want to put effort to modify it properly！

我知道很多设计师、部落客都使用网上免费的模板做他们的部落格/网站的界面，那是没有错的，但当你使用时，可以不要随便未经过作者的同意把作者的名字或网址删除吗？

而如果那些不是免费给你用的模板，你可以不要随便抄袭而没有经过同意吗？最近我怀疑某家本地新的网页设计/开发公司/freelancer在计划抄袭我专属的模板设计，甚至都不愿意放心思去做修改！

* I don’t even want to mention their site name or URL, as that will help them to promote their website.
* 我不想告诉你他们的网站或名字，因为那会帮他们免费宣传。

Honestly i don’t really mind if they are really copying my design, because that’s means people like my works and inspired by my creative. But can you do it more professionally when modified it? Make it look uniquely and better instead of copy 90% look alike layout! Why? BECAUSE:

1. I’m not provide this theme for public free to use, so there is no reason someone can simply use it without my permission.
2. If you are web design or development company, why copy other people design but not create your own design? It is not creative at all!

I don’t know they will feel “pie say” (Shame) or not when people asking them : “Is this design by your own?” and yet they answering : “Yes, is design by us” (Not even spend time to think about it when answering, but usually a real copy cat’s face are very thick).

However, the website is not ready yet (as they put version 2 coming soon), hopefully when it is ready, they will put “Inspired by Hen Design Studio” somewhere on their website (Although i know they won’t, as they going to use it for business).

Between copy and customise

If you are web design newbie, and still learning, there is nothing wrong to copy someone work for learning/education purpose, but please spend sometime to learn how they do it, the coding, the structure, the overall design, at least that will help you improving your design skill. But if you want to use it for business, please respect to the author, don’t remove their credit unless you have a permission or you bought the theme!

Otherwise, you are not in creative category, because even a pro copied cat designer know how to copy properly and make it look nicely.

坦白说我不是很介意他们如果真的抄，因为那表示人家喜欢我的设计与对我创意有启发。但你可以在修改时更专业一点？至少把它改得别人不察觉你在抄，而不是像足90%！为什么？因为：

1. 我并没有提供这模板免费使用，所以没有人可以未经过我同意而使用。
2. 如果你是网页设计与开发公司，为什么抄袭别人的设计而不是自己设计呢？那根本就不创意！

我不知道他们会觉得“歹势”吗？尤其是当有人问：“这完全是你自己设计的吗？” 而他们竟然会回答：“是的，完全是我们设计”（甚至连想都不想就回答，那也没办法，会抄的一般上脸皮都很厚）

他们网站暂时还未升级好（因为他们写着 Version 2要来临了），希望当完成时，他们会把注明该设计是”启发自Hen Design Studio“（纵然我知道那是不可能的，毕竟他们是拿来做生意用）

抄袭与自行修改的分别

如果你是设计新手而还在学习，把别人的设计当作学习用途或做参考是没有错的，但当你这么做时，可以花点时间学习对方的做法、架构、整体的设计等，好吗？因为那会帮助你的技巧更加进步，但如果你是拿来做商业用途，请尊重原创的作者，除非你有经过作者的同意，或你买了那个模版，不然不要随便把他们的名字或网站删除！

不然，你根本不属于创意这一行，因为就连专业而习惯抄袭的设计师，都知道怎样创意的去抄，让人察觉不出来。
