Everyone talk about iPhone 3G recently, ya i know it is a coolest gadget of the year, for anyone who hold and use it, the 1st impression will definitely said it is a coolest phone of this age.

Some of my friends came to asked my opinion about iPhone 3G, and they planning to get one from oversea friends (Since it is not officially available in Malaysia, mean you have to look for those “black market” version (make sure not china fake iphone), does it cover with warranty? i’m not really sure)

Well, if you never experience any Apple products, but you hope the features that iPhone 3G currently have can completely replace your current mobile phone, and you are planning to buy an iPhone 3G with the following reasons:

• 
• To replace any of your existing mobile phone that with keypad
• To have bluetooth connection that able to send and receive file,
  or share media files with your friends etc.
• 
• Video Recording.
• MMS features.
• And you are a person who always drive and text people at the same time (I know it is illegal)

Sorry to tell you, iPhone or iPhone 3G do not have above features, unless there are 3rd party software can support to improve it. And definitely, you won’t be able to use one hand holding it and drive and text people at the same time, because you need to keep you eyes focus on the screen keyboard!

By the way, defintely iPhone 3G is a coolest phone of the year, but still, it is depend on who is the user.
For me, i will definitely get one when it is available here offically or unofficially (Malaysia), but i will still keep my existing nokia mobile phone, why? Well, may be one day when i feel tired of using a touch screen phone, or when iPhone got any problem that may need to send back to the oversea Apple center to repair, then i still got a backup phone to use, and my backup phone still got all the basic features that i need.

If your OSX Tiger/Leopard Bluetooth send file window disappear (Bluetooth File Exchange), don’t panic, it just a problem of library file. Simply goto “/Users/username/Library/Preferences/”

and remove these 2 files (Make sure all connected bluetooth are disconnect, and turn off the bluetooth):

• com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
• com.apple.BluetoothFileExchange.plist

And turn on the bluetooth, click “Send file” again, holar~ your Bluetooth send file window are back~

Most of the time this bug only happen when user account’s folder are not remove correctly when do switching or upgrading.

* 这篇纯属做为记录，如果你的OSX Tiger/Leopard打开蓝牙后，Send File无法打开视窗，先关掉蓝牙，删除以下文件：
/Users/username/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
/Users/username/Library/Preferences/com.apple.BluetoothFileExchange.plist

再打开蓝牙，尝试传输文件，现在一切应该正常。

此问题大部分出现于用户切换或系统升级后，没有正确删除相关文件夹导致。

I’m mac person, when i switch to mac 4 years ago (Since OSX 10.3), I will never consider to switch back to Windows PC, unless i need to do BT download, open applications or access website that required to running from Windows PC, otherwise, there are no reasons i need to switch back.

Apple products are awesome and quality are better…but really expensive. Few years ago I bought this 15″inch Powerbook G4 laptop, it cost me around SGD3,999 when i was in Singapore. Now people will use the same price to buy a new model called “Macbook pro”, and of coz, the spec are so much different.

Since it is more than 4 years, and it ever drop on the floor quite a few time. There are lots of scratches around but it still working fine:

Everything are fine inside, except the RAM slot broken issue, which is known by all Powerbook G4 user. Can refer from this article: “15″ PowerBook G4 Lower Memory Slot Problem Revisited”

Which i also missed out the “PowerBook G4 (15-inch 1.67/1.5GHz) Memory Slot Repair Extension Program” last year to send for repair.

However, since one RAM slot is broken, i can still use another slot (Max 2 slots), but the original RAM only 512MB, and i really can’t stand when sometime i do some movie/animation rendering job, the speed are so slow. So few months ago i went to upgrade the RAM memory to 1GB (Which is maximum for one slot). What to do? You will never want to replace the whole motherboard just because of that broken RAM slot, it will cost you more than one Mac Mini price to do replacing!

The power adapter just broken last week, and i’m looking for a new one from Kuching Mac store/shop, but none of them are selling this accessory and they have to order from west malaysia, which may take more than 2 weeks. And i cannot wait for that long, also, it cost me around RM400! just for this tiny little thing which supply 60W to your powerbook.

So i borrow the 3rd party power adapter from a friend called John Huang (Studio Yolk), thank God, he is using the 3rd pary power adapter too, which bought from auction website, just cost him around RM280. And i got a contact from John, to call the person to order the OEM power adapter, the person will send the item within this week.

At the same time, my DVI to VGA converter also broken:

which i use it to connect to my LCD TV/Screen to work/watch movie sometime. Puh~…have to spend another RM50 for this cable. (S-Video cable still can use, but not sharp if connected to TV.)

Puh~~ my money~~ $$$ ~~ petrol raise ~~ baby coming ~~ aduh~
God, drop some money from heaven please~

If you planning to buy iPhone, make sure the local Mac store are able to do repairing or they willing to help you send the iPhone back to the Mac store (other country) that cover with iPhone International warranty. I’m Not kidding man, can you imagine how much it cost for the iPhone battery? I’m not sure, what i know is, my Powerbook G4 battery cost me RM700 in Malaysia.

I wonder how much it will cost when it come to asia? Must be more expensive than other countries.
I wonder why? Apple don’t like Malaysia? Or our telecommunication company have failed to negotiate with Apple to bring iPhone to Malaysia?

这是Google展出Touchscreen Android系统，
还未算是完整阶段，但大概整个运作界面是这样。
我个人觉得并没有什么特别的地方，它的界面真的有点”土”
由其是那个Desktop与时钟的界面，谁要那样的时钟啊？

只有一个很特别的地方，就是它有内建指南针系统，
如果转动你的手机使用Google map看Street view，
画面会跟着转动，参考以下视讯：

只能说，想以这样的系统与iPhone较量，那还差很远吧？话别说太早
据Android Community那里的消息，这手机系统软件是Open Source的，
就是开源代码系统，任何人都可以下载安装在适合的Touch Screen手机上，
也就是说，现有的Window Mobile用户可以开始考虑放弃Microsoft而投向Google Androids,
这是在IO conference后，程序设计师的回答：

Q.  Will you have to buy the device with Android on it, or will you be able to load Android onto an existing device.

A. The software will be released as open-source when the first handsets are available … so people can do with it pretty much whatever they want.  We don’t dictate how it’s used.

Q.  [Apple are planning on playing a central role in distributing iPhone apps]  Do you see yourselves playing a similar role?

A.  I don’t think there’ll be any one place for [distribution of Android software].  We’ll provide infrastructure to allow application developers to easily get distribution and post whatever business model they have in mind.  Some developers just want to give stuff away for free, some developers want to allow you to try something before you buy it, maybe a demo version they give away for free, then try to upsell you to a different version.  The infrastructure will be similar to how YouTube works, just a repository that things get hosted on and the technology that lets you put that on a handset.

单单这一点就有看头了，因为Apple iPhone之前都是封闭式系统，只有最近才开始公开SDK
给程序设计师开发软件。

唔…看来这会是一场手机系统软件的激斗。
