A top news that spread across world wide these few days:

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has stepped down, the board naming Tim Cook as his replacement. The company said “Steve’s extraordinary vision and leadership saved Apple and guided it to its position as the world’s most innovative and valuable technology company.”

Steve himself published the following letter:

“I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Let’s give Steve Jobs a big clap for what he have done and contribute to this world. A CEO that making a history.

Steve Jobs 刚刚宣布辞任 CEO，苹果董事局随即宣布委任 Tim Cook 继任 CEO。该公司称：「Steve （凭着他）非凡的洞察力和领导才能挽救了苹果，并且引领公司成为世界上最创新和最有价值的科技公司。」

＂我经常都说，如果有一天我不能再负担起作为公司 CEO 的职责和达到人们对此的期望时，我总会第一时间让您们知道。不幸地，那一天来临了。

本人藉此宣布辞任苹果公司的 CEO 一职。如果董事会觉得我胜任的话，我会乐意担任董事会主席和总监，继续作为苹果的员工。

至于 CEO 一职，我会强烈建议执行我们之前所订下的计划，委任 Tim Cook 成为继任人。

我相信苹果最明亮和最创新的日子会继续到来。我期望以一个新的身分去观察和为公司的成就作出贡献。

我在苹果里遇上了其中几位在我一生中最好的朋友，很感谢您们多年来跟我并肩作战。
