The connected IP is very limited and it is sharing with a huge number of users. You won't be able to download file from rapidshare most of the time, since rapidshare is limited the IP download per day, for basic user.

I remember someone ever said : "This kind of broadband services if is in Singapore, one or two weeks can shut down the company. If in USA, everyone can sue them. But in Malaysia, what can you do?"

I bought and installed an AT & T Compass 885 modem on 17 June 2009 and subscribed to Celcom RM98 monthly service. I was misled by the totally misleading "unlimited" service promotion and was greatly dismayed and outraged when the broadband stream to me was throttled down so often into a dribble. The 5 GB data download monthly limit was never publicised. What was publicised was the "unlimited" service.Celcom should be penalised for misrepresentation.

My point of use is hardly 400 metres away from the Celcom transponder mounted on Telekom tower at the Kedai Telekom of Taman Sentosa, Johor Bahru. While download speeds are shown on the Sierra Watcher display as, on the average, 300 Kb/s, actual speed of file download is about 60 KB/s.

Celcom should live up to what it publicizes: - provide sufficient numbers of high-capacity servers to enable clients receive data streams to display HD YouTube videos without highly irritating pauses.

The main cause for Celcom's poor service is insufficient data streams shared by too many clients: - alike a small bowlful of rice shared by very many people leaving a few grains of rice per person.

hmm, seems like you didn't read what i wrote up there. The modem is Sierra Wireless brand HSDPA modem, support up to 7.2MB with mini-SD card slot, you can find out more detail here:
http://www.sierrawireless.com/product/Apex.aspx

The different between this and those USB doogle is, it can either be directly plug into USB port or use USB cable to extend for better signal and clip on your LCD screen to prevent incidentally break the USB head when you move position of your laptop.

This Blog is 5 years old, any other questions?
