iPhone worm – how to avoid it? only for jailbroke iPhone
Ya, i heard this news few weeks ago. It is about an iPhone worm spread across most of the jailbroken iPhones in Australia. It affects only users who did not change their default SSH password, which allows file transfers between phones. SSH is a file-transfer program that enables users to remotely connect to their phones. It comes with a default password, “alpine” which should be changed. Users who have installed SSH and not changed the password are especially at risk.
Well, if your iPhone is infected, you will see your iphone wallpaper keep changing and something like this appear:

To avoid this, change your default SSH password to something you can remember (everytime you upgrade your iPhone firmware, you will need to do this again), how to change default SSH password, read here.
If you still not sure how to do it, you can simply install “SBSetting” from Cydia, and turn off the SSH connection to avoid this worm.

Well, i did noticed this security hole in the very beginning when iPhone is able to use SSH with that default password “alpine”. It is very dangerous that you never change the default password of your device, especially device that can connecting with internet/network connection. So i always turn my SSH off, since i’m lazy to change the password, because everytime when upgraded the firmware, you will need to change it again, therefore, i prefer just turn it off.
